Bermuda’s new IRP could mean 85% renewables by 2035

This week, Bermuda released its first Integrated Resource Plan (IRP). The IRP would lead to 85% renewables on the grid by 2035 – more than double the Electricity Policy target of 38% renewables.

The IRP specifies renewable energy sources that could meet the future load, including solar PV, offshore wind, and biomass. Feasibility studies for offshore wind, biomass, and demand-side resources will be conducted within two to three years.
