Bermuda’s new IRP plans for 85% renewables by 2035

This week, Bermuda released its first Integrated Resource Plan (IRP). The IRP would result in a contribution of 85% from renewable sources by 2035, which is more than double the Electricity Policy target of 38%.

Featured renewable energy technology anticipated to fulfill the renewable energy requirements include solar PV, offshore wind, and biomass. Feasibility studies for offshore wind, biomass, and demand-side resources will be conducted within two to three years.
