Bermuda’s net metering program, launched in 2010, is coming to an end after Bermuda Electric Light Company Limited (BELCO) has decided to replace it with an avoided cost compensation scheme. This revision is likely to reduce the level of new residential and commercial PV installations. The current 335 participants will continue to receive the subsidy, while customers with new PV installations will be compensated at an avoided cost to offset the price of fuel.
