Argentina delays 1-GW tender

Interest from local and foreign sector players has convinced Argentine public utility Cammesa to delay publishing the final version of the documents for the country’s 1-GW renewables tender. The 15 day extension will last through July 1 and interested parties can comment and make suggestions about the preliminary rules during that period.

The government seeks bids to contract 600 MW of wind, 300 MW of solar PV, 65 MW of biomass, 15 MW of biogas and 20 MW of small hydro. The wind and solar projects should range from 1 MW to 100 MW in size. The deadline for submitting in the tender was set for August 22, with awards expected to be announced on September 28.
