4.4 MW solar PV project underway in Cuba

Work has started on the first large scale PV plant in the Cuban province of Sancti Spíritus, as announced by power utility, Empresa Eléctrica (EE). Radio Havana Cuba, the official government-operated international broadcasting station, said the solar plant will have a capacity of 4.4 MW and will be connected to the local electric grid, Sistema Electroenergético Nacional (SEN). The radio station also mentioned that the solar technology will be Chinese. The province of Sancti Spíritus will build 63 MW of PV capacity by 2019.
