Latin America's heavy industry is entering a generational transition. Trade rules are shifting. Global buyers are imposing new standards. Cement. Steel. Petrochemicals. Mining. What does a globally competitive industrial enterprise look like in this environment, and how does it get there?
Capital is mobilizing. Climate Investment Funds (CIF) has selected Mexico and Brazil among the countries eligible to develop investment plans backed by up to USD 250 million each in concessional finance, designed to mobilize multiples of additional private capital.
The Industrial Transformation Accelerator for Latin America and the Caribbean (ITA-LAC) will host the formal launch of the CIF Industry Decarbonization Program for Mexico and Brazil, presented jointly by the IDB Group, the World Bank Group, and SHCP.
Concessional capital is only the start. Industrial transformation requires bankable structures, reliable energy supply, financing aligned with industrial timelines, and disciplined coordination between governments, utilities, developers, technology providers, and heavy industry itself.
ITA-LAC is built for that work. It convenes industrial leaders, energy producers, infrastructure developers, technology providers, DFIs, private capital, and policymakers to move the market from strategy to transactions, and from transactions to financial close.
