Hugo Salamanca is an Industry Decarbonization Expert at UNIDO with over 13 years of experience advancing industrial carbon reduction and energy efficiency worldwide. As Steel Breakthrough Agenda Facilitator, he drives international collaboration to accelerate near-zero emission steelmaking, and through the Net Zero Partnership he supports countries such as Argentina, Colombia, Chile and Peru in developing industry strategies for net zero emissions. His previous experience includes leading industrial energy performance at EQINOV and five years at the International Energy Agency (IEA), where he worked on energy efficiency strategies for emerging economies.
