Alba has more than 25 years of experience in financial markets. She holds a Master’s degree in Finance from ITAM, a specialization in Carbon Markets from the International Capital Market Association (ICMA), and an ESG Analyst certification from the European Federation of Financial Analysts Societies (EFFAS).

She spent 20 years with the Mexican Stock Exchange Group and served as Director of Product Development and New Markets at brokerage firm SIF ICAP. She is currently Executive Director of the Mexican Council for Sustainable Finance (CMFS), the representative body of the Mexican Financial System that has, since 2016, promoted best practices in green and sustainable finance, capacity building across financial sectors, and the mobilization of capital for sustainable investment and financing.

Alba serves on the Sustainable Finance Committee of Mexico’s Financial System Stability Council, led by the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit (SHCP) and the Bank of Mexico. She is also a member of the Executive Committee of the United Nations Financial Centres for Sustainability (FC4S) network, representing both the Mexico City Financial Centre and the Americas Hub. In addition, she serves on the Sustainability Technical Advisory Committee of CINIF and on the IFRS Sustainability Standards Review Committee.

Alba collaborates with various academic institutions as a lecturer and develops and delivers specialized courses in sustainable finance. She also serves on corporate boards and is a frequent speaker at national and international forums, covering topics including market development, sustainable taxonomies, disclosure frameworks, climate-related risks, and ESG regulation.
