Melvin has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Costa Rica, a Master in Administration from the University of Sciences and Arts of Costa Rica with a Diploma in Management from INCAE.

With 28 years of experience in the engineering field, both in the private and public sectors, in the management of transmission systems and electricity generation, with a marked leadership of teams focused on the fulfillment of projects, goals and business certifications.

In addition to his professional practice, he has contributed to the development of professionals in the country, as a teacher and project advisor, at the Technological Institute of Costa Rica, in the Schools of Construction Engineering and Electromechanical Maintenance Engineering from 2003 to 2018.

Current director of the Electricity Generation Business of the Costa Rican Electricity Institute since 2018, in 2016 Director of the Huetar Brunca Network Management Process.
