Francisco Porturas is the President of the Peruvian Geothermal Association founded on August 10, 2018. Francisco, holds a MSc and Dr. Ing. studies (NTH Norway), Geology BSc and Engineer from UNMSM, Industrial Engineering at UNI Lima Peru (not concluded ).Francisco is passionate about promoting renewable energy including low to high
enthalpy geothermal energy.
He developed these interests while working:

• Academia: NTH Trondheim and University of Stavanger (Norway) and Departments of Geology both at UNI and UNMSM (Peru).
• Oil industry: seismic data acquisition, processing and interpretation at GECO, CSM and Geoscience Group Leader at BH. Completions Domain Champion, Schlumberger Latin America. Global Reservoir Solutions Senior Adviser, Halliburton, Brazil. Later, Reservoir Manager: fiber optics sensing and monitoring for well flow applications, integrity, and P&A operations.
• More than 20 years experience from major oil energy service companies and academia.

He has published several papers and member of Organizing Committees of more than a couple of dozens Technical Conferences, Workshops and Seminars both with SEG, AAPG, EAGE, SPE, IGA and PGA, worldwide.
