Francisco Javier López is a lawyer from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and LL.M. and Certificate in Business Administration from the Northwestern University School of Law. During the first government of President Sebastián Piñera, he served as legal adviser to the Undersecretariat of Public Health, and as head of the Cabinet of the Budget Directorate of the Ministry of Finance. In the current mandate of President Piñera, he was head of the Cabinet and coordinator of
Health Policies of the Ministry of Public Works. Before assuming the new position in the Ministry of Energy, he was the regulatory and legislative coordinator of the Ministry of Economy.
