Marco Valencia Delgado was born in Quito in 1971 and graduated in electrical engineering from the National Polytechnic School in 1998 and received the Master’s degree in Operations Research in 2005.

He has served as head of fixed installations and advisor in the Quito’s trolleybus project, as a specialist of energy planning at the National Center for Energy Control, Director of Rates of CONELEC, Planning Director of CELEC EP, Deputy Manager of non-conventional generation projects in CELEC EP Termopichincha and Sub-Secretary of Generation and transmission of electricity and in the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy and then in the Ministry of Energy and Non-renewable Natural Resources, a position that he currently holds.

His professional career has been related to the generation system’s management economic and the regulatory issues, normative aspects, tariff control and planning of the electrical sector and regional electricity integration. He currently works as a part-time professor at the School of Electrical Engineering of the National Polytechnic School, at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
