Ms. Luz B. Díaz Ríos is a Senior Agribusiness Specialist at the World Bank, leading agrifood sector engagements across Europe and Central Asia, with a focus on Türkiye. She manages major lending portfolios, advances climate-smart and inclusive agrifood transformation, and advises governments on policies, investments, and institutional strengthening.

With nearly 30 years of experience in agribusiness, value chains, food quality and safety, and climate-smart agriculture, she has helped countries adopt innovative and resilient agrifood development strategies, including the use of geothermal energy in agro-industrial growth. She currently leads an investment operation that includes significant financing to expand geothermal direct-use applications in agriculture.

She holds an M.Sc. in Agricultural Economics from the University of Reading (UK) and a B.Sc. in Agriculture from the National University of Colombia, along with postgraduate training in agriculture and rural development in the UK and Israel.
