Eliana Mejía is the coordinator of the geothermal research group for The Colombian Geological Survey, a Science, Technology and Innovation entity attached to the Ministry of Mines and Energy.

She is a geologist engineer with master’s degree in science – Geology and Renewable Energy. She has more than 15 years of professional experience in geoscientist studies, planning, monitoring and development of projects from academia, government and private sector.

She has been involved in the geothermal research since 2009, participating in advance prefeasibility studies in different Colombian geothermal fields as well as exploratory geothermal drilling in the Caribbean. As part of both the Colombian Geological Survey and the Colombian Geothermal Association she is contributing to knowledge and promotion of geothermal resources to her country.
