he is a Chemical Engineer and holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering from the National Autonomous University of Mexico, where she is also a PhD candidate in Energy Engineering, with a research focus on sustainability and local energy development.

Her career has focused on the intersection of the environment, hydrocarbon use, renewable energy, and the promotion of sustainability, from public and private platforms, as well as from research and academia. Within academia, she distinguished herself as Project Coordinator at the Mario Molina Center for Strategic Studies on Energy and the Environment. In the private sector, she has collaborated with various consultancies on regulations and technical and environmental compliance related to hydrocarbons, as well as on decarbonization and sustainable development projects for communities and local governments.

He has extensive experience in the public sector, with more than 18 years of collaboration from Petróleos Mexicanos, the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, the National Agency for Industrial Safety and Environmental Protection of the Hydrocarbons Sector, and the Ministry of Energy.

In this latter role, she serves as Director General of Renewable Energies, responsible for developing public policy on the use and development of biofuels, geothermal energy, and other renewable energy sources, both for electricity generation and for harnessing heat for residential or productive use. All of this is guided by principles of energy equity and combating energy poverty.

Key milestones in her career include serving as an advisor on hydrocarbon issues, participating in climate change mitigation projects led by Dr. Mario Molina, supporting the development of the methodology for determining the externalities of hydroelectric plants, directing the development of regulations for hydrocarbon exploration and extraction activities, and recently, drafting the new laws and regulations for the hydrocarbon sector resulting from President Sheinbaum’s new energy reform.
