La OEA reúne a los países del Hemisferio Occidental para fortalecer la cooperación y promover intereses comunes en democracia, derechos humanos, seguridad hemisférica y desarrollo. La Alianza de Energía y Clima de las Américas promueve la cooperación regional en materia de energía mediante el impulso de proyectos y el intercambio de experiencias entre los países de las Américas a fin de lograr un desarrollo energético más limpio, seguro, eficiente, moderno y equitativo.
Es un mecanismo flexible a través del cual los gobiernos del Hemisferio Occidental, de forma voluntaria, pueden liderar iniciativas multinacionales o bilaterales que involucren al sector privado, el académico, la sociedad civil y organismos internacionales.

New Energy también es el realizador junto con Hinicio, del Índice de Hidrógeno anual para América Latina y el Caribe, un estudio pionero que mide el progreso hacia la economía del hidrógeno país por país en toda la región.

The Energy and Climate Partnership of the Americas promotes regional energy cooperation by fostering initiatives and the exchange of experiences within the countries of the Americas to achieve a cleaner, safer, more efficient, and fair energy development.
ECPA is a flexible mechanism through which governments in the Western Hemisphere, on a voluntary basis, may lead multi-country or bilateral initiatives involving the private sector, civil society and academia, and international organizations.
