Vice President, Customer Service & Technology
He is responsible for implementing the Caribbean Utilities Company’s new business and technology goals including aggressive targets for renewable energy sources to connect to CUC’s electricity grid. Identifying projects that improve environmental performance, decrease costs and create growth for the company. He is also responsible for customer service, external communications and marketing, information technology and the company’s telecom subsidiary DataLink as well as the long-term planning, engineering and construction of transmission, distribution and production systems, project management for all large capital projects. He has held this position since 2016. Mr. Tibbetts joined the CUC team in 1998 and has been a member of the Management Team since 2003. He was a contributor to the Cayman Islands National Energy Policy and recently lead the development of CUC’s Integrated Resource Plan which guides the company to stabilized energy costs and a reduction of CO2 emissions of over 60% by 2030 in compliance with the Paris Accord. Mr. Tibbetts received a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from McGill University in Montreal, Canada, is a registered Professional Engineer and holds a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute. He has served on boards and committees for various community organizations and is presently on the board of the Cayman Islands National Gallery and the Cayman Islands Cycling Association.
