Martin is a Senior Consultant in the Energy Decarbonisation Practice within Ricardo, a global strategic and engineering consultancy. Focusing on clean energy, Martin and the team engage across a diverse range of work, covering renewable energy implementation, planning and regulation, networks and smart grids, and hydrogen.

Martin’s experience is specifically in renewable energy, energy storage and sustainable transport work. Amongst the variety of projects Martin has worked on, he has explored the potential of co-locating electrolysers with wind farms with the view to absorb curtailed energy production, developed an energy storage model that simulates the dispatch of grid connected storage facilities or the dispatch of a battery for transport applications such as rail, as well as managed and delivered projects that explore the potential of battery storage for co-location with renewable energy and in railway applications.

Additionally, Martin has contributed to the successful delivery of multiple projects internationally by carrying out technical modelling, completing financial analyses and undertaking research. These include a series of projects for the Regulatory Authority of Bermuda, including the delivery and project management of an offshore wind scoping study, technical and financial analysis of solar PV projects and analysis for retail tariff reviews.
