Since Ina de Visser qualified as an engineer, she has been working in the energy and climate sectors. She started her career in the private sector in the Netherlands and Tanzania, working on CHP plants and the development of biofuels. About 12 years ago she joint GIZ as an advisor, mostly in African countries as well as with the African Union Commission in Ethiopia. Subsequently she moved back to Europe to manage cooperation between the European Investment Bank and GIZ as a secondee to the EIB, working on energy, transport and climate investments in low and middle income countries. Since late 2022 she leads implementation of the programme Supporting the implementation of NDCs in the Caribbean – transforming the transport and energy sectors with a focus on renewable energy and electro mobility, from the beautiful island of Saint Lucia.
