Athanasius Smith joined BELCO as an Engineer-in-Training in 2002 and now has over 20 years of utility experience. He successfully obtained his Chartered Engineer designation through BELCO’s IMechE/(UK) accredited Monitored Professional Development Scheme (MPDS).
During his time at BELCO, he has held the positions of Engineer and Senior Engineer and has supported engineering and technical activities across the group of companies. Athanasius was also the Project Director for the first revisions of the 2014/2016 BELCO Integrated Resource Plan (IRP) study and was the lead for the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) project development work. Currently Athanasius holds the position of Director of Procurement & Logistics.
