Alfonso is passionate about helping emerging economies reduce their energy costs and carbon footprint. He has been working for over 25 years advising utilities, investors, lenders, and governments on renewable and conventional energy projects, and recently on energy storage and green hydrogen projects. As K&M Advisor’s President, he leads market and feasibility studies, due diligence, transaction structure, competitive procurement, and several other advisory lines.  His most recent work in the Caribbean includes advising several islands on LNG/Gas switching economics, competitive procurement, and negotiation of LNG or gas supply contracts; BESS feasibility studies and EPC competitive procurement; least-cost generation planning; and technical and commercial due diligence of thermal and renewable generation assets. Mr. Guzman has worked in 37 countries and has advised on 21 energy transactions totaling 8 GW and an investment of nearly $7.5 billion. Mr. Guzman holds a M.Sc. and B.S. in engineering and a M.Sc. from the London Business School.
