Ralph S. Williams was born in Barbados in July 1942. “Bizzy”, as he is affectionately known, is the holder of an Honours degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of the West Indies. As the Founder and Chairman of Williams Industries Inc. he has grown the Group adding a mix of successful companies earning him the 2000 Ernst & Young Caribbean Entrepreneur of the Year Award; and in 2001 the Ernst & Young World Entrepreneur of the Year Award for Multiple Business Creation, which he was awarded in Monte Carlo from a wide cadre of candidates drawn from countries worldwide. In addition, he was awarded the Barbados Gold Crown of Merit in 2002, for his outstanding contribution to business and industry. Recently, Mr. Williams became Dr. Williams when he was awarded an Honorary Degree by the University of the West Indies. His passion for Barbados and the environment is constantly evident through his business ventures, passionate and thought provoking discussions and way of life, as we see him drive around Barbados in his electric car.
