Ewout joined FMO in 2003, where he started as investment officer with a focus on infrastructure  finance in Africa and Asia. In 2008, Ewout joined FMO’s Private Equity department where he worked on growing FMO’s private equity investments in Africa and Asia. Subsequently, in 2012 Ewout took up  the position of regional head for FMO’s activities in Southern Africa, based at FMO’s Southern Africa office in Johannesburg. In that position, he was involved in the financing of multiple energy projects  in South Africa, Zambia and Mozambique. 

Since 2017, Ewout heads FMO’s Energy team for Latin America & Caribbean. The team provides long  term debt funding to clients and projects across the region and manages a total portfolio of over USD  700 mln. investments. Prior to joining FMO, Ewout worked for an international engineering &  construction group on the funding of PPP infrastructure projects in Europe, the Middle East (Gulf Area)  and Asia. Ewout holds a Masters’ degree in Public Administration from the University of Twente in The  Netherlands
