Ms. Anita M. Hankey has been with the Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries, Trinidad and Tobago, for the past fifteen (15) years.  She is currently the Head of the Renewable Energy Division, with major responsibilities for Sustainable Energy Policy Development, Public Awareness, and Sustainable Energy Development and Management. She has worked in several Government Ministries, spanning across Finance, Planning and Development, Science and Technology, Public Administration, Consumer Affairs and National Security

Ms. Hankey is the holder of a BSc. Management and Sociology (Hons.) Degree, and a Master’s Degree, with Distinction, in Regulation and Policy (MSc.) for Telecommunications from the University of the West Indies (UWI) St. Augustine.  Among others, she holds Certificates in Renewable Energy Technologies and Applications, and, Energy Planning for the Caribbean.

Ms. Hankey is the Vice Chairperson of the Reconstituted Permanent Local Content Committee (PLCC) and the National Focal Point (NFP) for several Government initiatives, including the Energy and Climate Partnership of the Americas (ECPA).  She also Chairs a number of high-level Inter-Agency and Inter-Ministerial Committees, including that of the Feed-in-Tariff Policy, Utility Scale Renewable Energy Projects, the Waste-to-Energy (WtE) Beetham Landfill Project, and the IRENA- United Arab Emirates (UAE) Caribbean Renewable Energy Grant-Funded Project for Trinidad and Tobago.
