Transport Economist
Xavier Espinet is a transport economist at the World Bank working in the Latin American and The Caribbean region. He is leading several infrastructure projects in the Caribbean in aviation, road and urban mobility, and the regional connectivity agenda. Additionally, he brings a breath of technical expertise on climate change to support the transition to low-carbon mobility and bring climate resilience to LAC transportation systems. Previously, he has worked across a range of other countries across the globe including Mozambique, Vietnam, Sierra Leone and Albania. Xavier Espinet holds a civil engineering degree from the Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya and a PhD in civil systems from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
