Plant Manager - Tynes Bay Waste to Energy Facility
Mr. Wade was appointed as Plant Manager of the Tynes Bay Waste to Energy Facility in 2019 and is currently responsible for the oversight of all operation, training, strategic capital planning and administrative activities involving the disposal of Municipal Solid Waste on the island of Bermuda through incineration.
Mr. Wade attained his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering as well as a Master of Engineering from Howard University with a concentration in Hydrogen Fuel Cell Technologies. Having a keen interest in energy and power, Nasir started his professional engineering career in Washington DC as a consultant project engineer for the United States General Service Administration directly stationed at the Central Heating Operations and Transmission Division which served the Federal Government Buildings in the area inclusive of the White House.
After almost four years of service to the US Government Mr. Wade returned to Bermuda in 2013 as the Maintenance Engineering Manager for TBWEF. With a passion for solving complex problems, business acumen and change management Mr. Wade has set a course to bring about innovative, efficiency and resilience, to the challenges that face Bermuda, the Caribbean and the Latin America region. Mr. Wade has worked in the power plant utility industry for 15 years with extensive experience in the field of Waste to Energy.
Mr. Wade was appointed to the Bermuda College Board of Governors in 2017 and currently serves as Deputy Chairman. He has previously served as an ex-officio member of the Bermuda National Training Board from 2020 to 2022 and also serves on the management team of his Community Sports Club in which he has been an active contributor since his youth.
Mr. Wade is also the Co-founder and COO of an entrepreneurial venture, NeWave Solutions Group Ltd. which provides consultant services related to engineering design and data driven decisions.
