Joana is a Lead Investment Officer of IDB Invest, in the Energy and Infrastructure division which she joined in 2016. She is responsible for the origination and structuring of financing operations in the Transport, Energy, Water and Sanitation and Social Infrastructure sectors. She has led transactions in Mexico, Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, Peru, Belize, Barbados and Guatemala. Before joining the IDB Group, Joana worked for the International Finance Corporation (IFC, for its acronym in English) in infrastructure projects in Latin America and in French-speaking countries and Portuguese from Africa. Has vast experience in the infrastructure sector, and his work in development of complex and innovative structures in projects in Latin America has earned him awards international project finance publications. Joana holds master’s degrees in Economics and Finance from the Columbia University in New York (USA) and of the Paris Institute of Political Studies (Sciences Po) (France). In addition, she has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Economics from the School of Economics and Political Science of London (United Kingdom).
