Leena Wokeck founded FutureWays in 2017. From the start, she has been working with the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Commission and the Government of Saint Lucia on the initiation of the Caribbean NDC Finance Initiative (NDCFI).

With a background in cultural anthropology, international law, and political economy, Leena started her career in sustainable development working on corporate transparency, accountability, and sustainability reporting. She then headed up the CSR Center at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) in Thailand and served as an Executive Director at CSR Asia, where he remained an Associate when returning to Europe and until moving on to FutureWays.

She has a long-standing interest in business strategies for climate adaptation and extensive experience in facilitating engagement and collaboration. She now concentrates much of her work on resilient, low-carbon development in the Eastern Caribbean and in Pacific Island Countries, and on regional cooperation and support for ambitious climate action and leadership towards the achievement of the goals of the Paris Agreement. Her work with the NDCFI is funded by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
