Gloria Henry has over two decades of experience in many areas of business, including, administration, public sector management, banking, corporate services, strategic leadership, customer relationship management and property management. She is an innovative and energetic leader with expertise; strengths in problem analysis and resolution, process improvements and people and quality management.

She has an Executive Masters in Business Administration and a bachelor’s of science in management. Her education has taken her through higher level institutions both in Jamaica and abroad.

She is currently employed by the Port Authority of Jamaica (PAJ) as Assistant Vice-President in charge of the Montego Bay Free Zone Company. Over the last decade Gloria has spearheaded the transition of the Free Zone from a manufacturing industrial estate into an ICT focused enclave, supporting the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) Industry. During this period, all the major indices for the Zone (employment, foreign exchange and occupancy) recorded significant growth and the Zone won the FDI’s Magazine global Free Zone of the Year award in 2015.

Gloria also worked for eleven years with the Development Bank of Jamaica in various capacities, where she served the western region and coordinated critical multi-million dollar projects for the restructuring and development of several rural financial services institutions.

She was elected President of the Business Process Industry Association of Jamaica (BPIAJ) in June 2017 and is currently serving in that position for a 3rd consecutive term.

Gloria has also served many public, private and civic organizations including The Montego Bay Chamber of Commerce where she served as President for the period 2015 – 2017. She has served on the boards of some educational institutions, including the Montego Bay Community College. She currently serves on the Arts Council of Montego Bay, the Montego Bay Advisory Committee of the Urban Development Corporation, the Mayor’s Advisory Committee and the Private Sector Organization of Jamaica Executive Council.

She was featured on Business Access TV and was the recipient of a 2018 Gleaner Honour Award for economic contribution to the west and a 2019 Spirit of Independence Special Award for Economic Development in the West.

She enjoys travelling, hiking, gardening and spending time with her daughter.
