Dr. Lindberg Simpson is a Consultant General, Advanced Laparoscopic and Bariatric Surgeon and the current Head of the Surgery department. Dr. Simpson completed medical school and residency at the University of the West Indies, Mona. Dr. Simpson is a certified ATLS (Advanced Trauma and Life Support) Instructor and also pursued fellowship training in Minimally Invasive, Robotic and Bariatric surgery at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Since returning to Jamaica, he has pushed the envelope for Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery and was a founding member of the Caribbean Society of Endoscopic Surgeons, CaSES (editorialized in International Journal of Surgery, Jan 2019)

Locally, he has introduced the laparoscopic approach to several challenging surgical conditions, and has also partnered with surgeons locally and regionally to conduct laparoscopic training courses. He is a founding member of the Caribbean Obesity Society and led the lobby group to the insurance companies to get coverage for bariatric surgery in Jamaica. He is a member of the Society of American Gastro-intestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, (SAGES) as well as the Caribbean College of Surgeon.

Dr. Simpson operates private practice at Santa Clara Medical Centre in Kingston.
