Jerry Christopher Butler was three times elected and until recently served as one of the fourteen (14) resident Board Chair Executive Directors for the 48 country owners, who create policy and approve all lending, investment, and grant operations in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) for the IADB Group. He was Chair of the Programming Committee for the $15 billion lending envelope of 2018 operations. He has served as Dean and Chair of the Board. The IADB is the oldest and largest regional multilateral development and investment bank with a triple A rating and over $100 Billion in Assets. It is also the largest source of public financing in Latin America and the Caribbean. Jerry previously headed a Bahamas-based private consultancy practice that provided business advisory services and specialized in identifying and executing Project Investment opportunities in both the Public and Private Sectors in LAC. He is frequently accessed to provide strategic advisory services on policy and legislative initiatives throughout LAC. He is also the Founding Chairman of the Caribbean Renewable Energy Forum (CREF), the largest and oldest Caribbean investment forum for renewable energy stakeholders. He also served as Deputy Chairman of the Bahamas Securities Commission; Chairman of the Latin American Caribbean Council on Renewable Energy (LAC – ACORE) Advisory Board; Consultant on the World Bank Caribbean Entrepreneur (EPIC) SME Program; and Director of a significant Caribbean insurance company. His professional experience in finance, banking, public accounting, wealth management and financial services spans over thirty (30) years in New York, Washington, LAC, and Europe. He holds an MBA from the University of Miami as Summa Cum Laude Class Valedictorian, a BSc in Computer Science from New York’s Manhattan College, and was a law student at the University of the West Indies. He is also licensed as a Chartered Accountant, a Building Contractor, a Financial and Corporate Services Provider (FCSP), a Realtor, and is a Certified IAAF Coach in Track and Field Sports.
