Baldvin Björn has participated as legal advisor in many of the largest M&A transactions in Iceland during the past 20 years. Baldvin Björn has actively advised clients throughout his career in Energy Law, both in the field of Renewable Energy and in Oil and Gas. In the field of Renewable Energy law, Baldvin Björn has advised Icelandic clients in their ventures in Iceland and other European countries, in the Philippines, Indonesia, Djibouti, Abu Dhabi, Ethiopia, Nepal, etc. Furthermore, Baldvin Björn has advised central and regional authorities, as well as international development agencies such as the World Bank and the UNDP in Turkey, France, Djibouti, Kazakhstan and the Comoros Islands relating to geothermal regulatory frameworks, as well as lecturing on such matters in the US, East Africa and Central America. As concerns Oil and Gas, Baldvin Björn, along with members of the BBA//Fjeldco team, advised the Icelandic Energy Authority on the first offering round of Oil exploration and production licenses in the so-called Dragon Area North-East of Iceland, including advice on laws and regulations on the exploration and harnessing of oil and the structuring of licenses, joint-operating agreements etc. Baldvin speaks Icelandic, French and English.
