Azra worked over 8 years in the field of protection and promotion of human rights, in development or emergency contexts. She is a law school graduate, holding an MA diploma in human rights and democracy. With interest in examining relations between human rights and climate change, she also obtained a MSc in Sustainable Energy. She is currently based in Iceland and engaged with the World Bank as a gender specialist on a project focused on identification and maximization of social and economic benefits related to hydro and geothermal development.
