Oscar Villalonga

Oscar is a global financial services executive and former GE Capital senior business leader with deep domain expertise in corporate and project finance.

Oscar began his career in Puerto Rico, attaining the role of President of GE Capital Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic and the Caribbean basin, leading all lending and investment activities across the region.  The last 12 years Oscar has led corporate finance activities in North America across several product offerings including equipment lending and leasing, working capital structures and distributed energy project finance.  

For the last 3 years Oscar has been leading the global distributed project finance energy team for GE and was a founding member of the GE Ventures startup, Current, powered by GE, establishing the project financing and tax equity infrastructure for distributed energy projects for solar, energy storage, EV charging stations, CHP and efficiency (LED & smart cities) projects for commercial, industrial and municipal customers.  

Oscar’s ties to the Puerto Rico business community, his recent work in the distributed generation project finance space and his intimate knowledge of the corporate finance industry and of domestic capital sources of funding provide him a unique perspective about the potential evolution to a distributed energy model for C&I companies and municipalities in Puerto Rico.

Oscar holds a Business Administration degree from the University of Puerto Rico and splits his time between Fairfield, CT and San Juan.
