Helmut Kantner Managing Director of AustriaEnergy has more than 30 years of experience in the energy sector, mainly in Central and South-East Europe and Chile/Latin-America. Prior to AustriaEnergy he led Jenbacher, a leading biogas engine manufacturer, in the Peninsula Iberica a company sold to General Electric during his management. Helmut holds a technical degree in engineering and has also enjoyed his education on the economical university of Vienna. Helmut has managed the development and construction of more than 1 GW of renewable power plants prior staring the green hydrogen project in Chile. Since end of 2019 the company focusses on Green Hydrogen Developments in the south of Chile as well as on developing a pipeline of utility size grid connected wind projects most of them south of Santiago with the aim to convert the company in part to an IPP. The company has disinvested on projects developed and constructed to multinationals like ENEL, IBERDROLA, TOTAL, SOJITZ, among others avoiding yearly significant CO2 emissions.
