Mr. Shinichi Hasegawa is a Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Energy Innovation Initiative for Sumitomo Corporation in the Americas. His 30 year career at Sumitomo Corporation, a Fortune Global 500, Japanese trading and global investment company, has had him leading business initiatives that have spanned the Middle East, Africa and Asia and includes assignments that stationed him in Sumitomo Corporation Brazil and now is based in the New York headquarter offices of Sumitomo Corporation of Americas.

In his current role, he oversees a business team in the Americas that focuses on development of opportunities and innovation in the areas of Carbon-Free Energy (hydrogen, ammonia, SAF and bio methane; expansion of Power & Energy Services (i.e. large-scale storage batteries) and on CCUS solutions.

Prior to this assignment, Mr. Hasegawa was the Head of Infrastructure Business in Latin America, based in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He was responsible for defining the strategic regional vision for business development as well as on leading Sumitomo´s investment in BRK Ambiental, which is the largest private sanitation company in Brazil and is present in more than 180 municipalities, benefiting the lives of approx. 18 million people.

Throughout his career, he has been managing infrastructure and energy related business, so he has an understanding of the process and requirements that need to take place in order for the world to transition to Sustainable energy sources.

Mr. Hasegawa is a Chemical Engineer from Tokyo Institute of Technology in Tokyo, Japan.
