Mr. Hara received Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Quantum Science and Energy Engineering from Tohoku University. After he got Doctor of Engineering degree in Applied Chemistry Tokyo Institute of Technology, in April 2003, he joined NEDO.
In recent years, from July 2011 to October 2015, he served as Representative of NEDO’s Bangkok office in Thailand, managing NEDO’s cooperative research and technology-transfer projects in the ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) countries. From October 2015 to October 2017, he became a Director of the Robot & AI Technology Department at NEDO’s Headquarters in Japan. From November 2017 to August 2021, he has been employed as Director of the Office of Hydrogen & Fuel Cell Technology in NEDO. As Director, Mr. Hara manages NEDO’s research projects concerning the promotion and development of fuel-cell batteries and hydrogen supply chain. From September 2021 to the present, Mr. Hara served as Representative of NEDO’s Washington DC office in U.S.A., managing NEDO’s cooperative research and technology-transfer projects in the North America and enhancing the cooperation activities between the Governmental Organization for both Japan and USA.
