BEIS
Senior Policy Adviser, Hydrogen Production Strategy
I am leading on the development of a UK standard that defines low carbon hydrogen, including setting out the maximum acceptable levels of greenhouse gas emissions associated with low carbon hydrogen production. This standard will allow government to incentivise and support low carbon hydrogen production for supply across the energy system.
I am an experienced Civil Servant who has worked in four government departments: HM Treasury, the Cabinet Office, the Department for Exiting the EU, and the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS). Prior to BEIS, I was a policy lead in UK-EU negotiations, and EU-exit and international trade, leading on cooperation on World Trade Organisation issues. In BEIS, I also helped to establish the Hydrogen Advisory Council- the primary forum for BEIS ministerial engagement with representatives from the hydrogen sector.
