Jovanio Santos is Director of Strategy – Power & Utilities at Deloitte, with more than 15 years of experience across the energy industry value chain, including generation, transmission, distribution, and commercialization. An electrical engineer by training, he holds a master’s degree in Energy Markets and Regulation from the University of São Paulo (USP), where he is also pursuing a PhD in the same field, in addition to MBAs in Power Sector Business, Project Management, and Energy Efficiency, and an LLM in Energy Law.

Throughout his career, he has led projects involving the privatization of power sector companies, the structuring of auction strategies for generation and transmission assets, and self-generation projects that enabled more than 3 GW of installed capacity. He has extensive experience in Research, Development & Innovation (R&D&I) projects, focusing on topics such as metering aggregation, market opening, and energy storage systems, as well as serving as a technical expert in commercial disputes within the sector.

He is a professor in the Graduate Program in Power Systems at UNIR and in the Energy Transition MBA at FISUL, a Senior Member of IEEE, a member of CIGRE Brazil, and a board member of the Brazilian Association of Green Hydrogen and Ammonia (ABHAV). He is the author and co-author of several articles published in renowned international journals.
