Team Leader – Green Deal Partnership with the Caribbean
Luca Trinchieri is the Team Leader for the Green Deal Partnership with the Caribbean at the EU Delegation to Barbados, Eastern Caribbean and CARICOM/CARIFORUM, covering also operations in Trinidad and Tobago and regional Caribbean programmes. His team’s portfolio includes climate change, environment and biodiversity, circular economy, energy, disaster risk reduction, among others. Prior to this, he was the geographical coordinator for the Caribbean Region in DG INTPA, where he had contributed to the 2021-2027 programming for the Caribbean and the negotiation of the Caribbean Protocol of the Post Cotonou Agreement with ACP countries. He worked for the EU also at the EU Delegations in Somalia (Team Leader for Governance and Security), Geneva and New York (multilateral representation to the UN). He was posted in the field (Mali, Sierra Leone) and in HQ with the United Nations, Government institutions and NGOs, with tasks ranging from design and evaluation of cooperation projects to multilateral diplomacy, from human rights work to policy development, from academic research to media and journalism. Luca, an Italian national, holds a MA in Human Rights and Democratisation, a MA in International Relations and Human Rights and a degree in International Relations.
