Anand Kalpoe has a Bachelor and Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, focusing on Energy Systems, which he obtained at the Anton de Kom University of Suriname (AdeKUS) and the University of West Indies, respectively.

He is a full-time lecturer at AdeKUS in Electrical Engineering, specializing in Power System Analysis and Control. He is representing ADEKUS as a member of the Supervisory Board of the Energy Authority Suriname (EAS). As of January 01st, 2024, he is the acting managing director of the regulator EAS.

His (professional) ambitions are to contribute to:

• Acquiring and disseminating knowledge and experience in the reliable and sustainable integration of renewable energy systems into the electrical power systems of Suriname.
• Efficiency improvement of the generation and use of electrical energy in Suriname
