International Director and Lead for Latin America and the Caribbean


Ms. Stéphanie Nour is mechanical engineer graduate from McGill University in Montreal, Canada. She is International Director as well as Latin America and the Caribbean Lead, and partner, at Econoler, a world renowned consultancy firm in the sustainable energy sector headquartered in Québec City Canada. She is a senior energy efficiency (EE) expert with over 20 years of experience in various energy efficiency related sectors, including the development and operation of ESCOs, development of Demand-Side Management (DSM) programs, structuring of innovative financing mechanisms for the implementation of EE and RE projects, the design and evaluation of sustainable energy programs, as well as the development and delivery of capacity building and training programs. She advises national and local governments, and the leading International Finance Institutions (IFI) such as the Inter-American Development Bank Group, the World Bank Group, the United Nations and with bilateral development organizations such as the KfW, the GIZ and the AFD.

In the region, she has assisted several financial institutions in designing and implementing green financing mechanisms including Banco BHD (Dominican Republic), Caixa Economica Federal and BNDES (Brasil), Banco Agricola (El Salvador), Bancomext (Mexico), the DFC (Belize) and Fundación Paraguaya (Paraguay) among others. The last two institutions were supported under the EcoMicro programme (https://www.ecomicro.org/home), managed by the IDB Lab, to improve their EE/RE finance product and enhancing access to women MSMEs.

Her international experience has led her to work in more than 40 countries including almost all countries in Latin America and the Caribbean.
