Omar Zacarías is an Investment Management Officer for the Caribbean, Central America and Mexico for the Infrastructure and Energy Division at IDB Invest. Omar is an investment professional with over 14 years of experience in corporate and project finance across multiple industries and sectors in Central America and the Caribbean, working in the private sector at international financial organizations, as well as local and regional real-sector corporates. Before joining IDB Invest in 2017, he was an investment professional at the International Finance Corporation (IFC) of the World Bank Group, working on infrastructure, manufacturing, and agribusiness.

Previously, among others, Mr. Zacarías worked as Financial Coordinator and Senior Treasury Analyst in private companies in Dom. Rep. in the metallurgical and airport industry, respectively. He also worked as a Business Analyst for a business strategy consulting firm in Spain. Mr. Zacarías holds an MBA from IE Business School, and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Pontificia Universidad Catolica Madre y Maestra in Dominican Republic. A Dominican citizen, Omar is based out of IDB Invest’s country office in Santo Domingo, Dom. Rep.
