President
Rob Klenner is President of GreenFire Energy, where he is leading the company’s transformation into a tech-enabled, next-generation geothermal developer. The company focuses on co-located, behind-the-meter (BTM) solutions and revitalizing underutilized geothermal fields, applying advanced heat-recovery techniques and proven oil and gas technologies to shorten timelines and accelerate time to revenue. With a growing patent portfolio and strategic partnerships, GreenFire Energy is on track to develop 150 MWe by 2030 and become a top global geothermal producer.
Klenner brings more than 15 years of subsurface technology experience across geothermal, oil and gas, and CCUS. Prior to GreenFire Energy, he served as Director of Geothermal Technologies and Innovation at Baker Hughes and held roles at General Electric, the EERC at the University of North Dakota, and Calpine’s The Geysers. He has authored over 25 publications, holds more than a dozen patents, and earned B.S. and M.S. degrees from the University of North Dakota, where he serves on the Board of Advisors.
