Dr Ed Fitzgerald is a medical doctor with 25 years’ experience in health practice and management. He has a deep knowledge of healthcare delivery across payers and providers globally, with extensive personal experience from working in 40 countries on over 100 occasions. In additional to his clinical practice, previous roles have spanned strategy, policy and operational work across healthcare. He now leads the KPMG Global Center of Excellence for Island Healthcare, supporting island care regionally as the Head of Healthcare and Life Sciences for KPMG Islands Group. This network of member firms covers a region of over 45 million people across the Atlantic, Caribbean and Mediterranean islands. Originally qualifying in medicine from the University of Oxford, Ed now leads a multidisciplinary advisory team with a particular focus on care system design and integrated care, hospital operational improvement, universal health coverage, and digital healthcare.
