Tristan Hydes is a long-serving civil servant in the Cayman Islands Government, with over 20 years of experience in public administration and infrastructure planning. Currently holding the position of Deputy Chief Officer at the Ministry of Planning, Agriculture, Housing, Infrastructure, Transport & Development (PAHITD), Tristan plays a pivotal role in shaping national infrastructure projects, housing development, the National Roads Authority, transportation, and food security policies. His expertise spans a variety of sectors, including urban planning, sustainability, and driving forward Cayman’s goals through the development and implementation of the National Energy Policy and community development.

Tristan has been instrumental in advancing the Ministry’s strategic initiatives, including the National Roads Infrastructure Strategy and Public Transport reforms, as well as the George Town Revitalization Project, which focuses on improving urban spaces to support the growing needs of the Cayman Islands. His work also involves overseeing significant infrastructure investments that align with the Cayman Islands’ Nutrition and Food Security Policy (CINFSP).
Tristan is deeply committed to ensuring that public-private partnerships (PPPs) and technological advancements contribute to enhancing the resilience and sustainability of the Cayman Islands’ infrastructure and food systems.
