Currently Director of Information Security (CISO) at CIBC Caribbean, Derick Burton has almost 30 years of Cybersecurity experience.  Working for the last 10 years in the Caribbean and Bermuda, Derick has been Had of Cybersecurity for a Bermudan bank, Head of Cybersecurity Operations at a regional telco, and Head of IT Governance at the Caribbean Development Bank.

Previously Derick had roles in the UK and USA working as a Cybersecurity Architect and Cybersecurity Risk consultant for Utilities, Oil and Gas, Insurance, and Finance companies.  Derick has also taught Computing and networks at a UK University, and Cloud and Cybersecurity for a global training organization.  Derick has been involved in multiple privacy initiatives, worked with Critical National Infrastructure for Finance and Power Generation, and supported multiple community engagements, helping senior citizens navigate their cybersecurity questions. 

Derick studied in the UK and USA, attaining a B.Sc. (hons) in Distributed Information Systems, an M.S. in Network Security, and more recently completed an MBA in Finance.
