Michelle Abreu Vargas is the Director of the Energy and Infrastructure Department at OMG, a law firm that integrates research and professional services to create social impact, generate knowledge and add innovative value. She is a lawyer graduated from Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM) with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Barna Business School (BARNA) and a Master of Civil Law from Université Panthéon-Assas París II, Paris, France. She is member of the Energy Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce of the Dominican Republic (AmCham). In addition, she has taught Civil Law at her alma matter and was the Coordinator of the Legal Strategy Master program at OMG Institute for seven years. In her 14 years of experience as an attorney, she has focused her legal practice on corporate and regulatory matters, including capital markets, energy law, securities and financial regulation,mergers and acquisitions, project finance, business planning and contracts. Within her energy legal practice, she has adviced several clients in connection with the development, financing, construction and acquisition of large-scale power and infrastructure projects, and on a range of corporate and commercial transactions in the energy sector, including investors, developers, contractors, lenders, sellers, acquirers and the government.
