Jorge Poblete Aedo is an Industrial Civil Engineer from the Pontificia Universidad Católica, with a distinguished career in multinational companies and public administration. He has demonstrated a strong results orientation and a high commitment to service, excelling in forming high-performance teams, conflict resolution, and strategic analysis.
During the second administration of President Sebastián Piñera (2018-2022), he served as Undersecretary of Education (2020-2022), where he led the strategy for the return to in-person classes during the pandemic. Previously, as General Manager of Le Grand Chic S.A. (2014-2020), he increased the company’s sales by 30% and tripled its profitability.
Since April 2022, he has been the CEO of WeTechs, a startup specializing in thedevelopment of solutions for the digitalization of water and other industrial fluidsmanagement. Under his leadership, WeTechs achieved a 46% growth in 2023, mainlydriven by the mining sector, and obtained B Corporation certification and ISO 9001:2015 for its Water and Other Industrial Fluids Monitoring Management System using IIoTtechnology.
WeTechs currently monitors over 77 million cubic meters of water and 86 million cubicmeters of gas, with 377 monitoring points. The company plans to expand to Peru and Australia in 2024 and 2025, respectively. In 2023, Jorge Poblete participated in a tour of Australia with representatives from the mining and energy sectors, organized by Auschamand AndesMETS.
Poblete also served as Director of organizations in the Public Enterprise System (SEP) and is currently Director of Ciudad Luz, a Chilean startup in distributed solar energygeneration. Additionally, he has been teaching the Strategic Management course at Universidad del Desarrollo for seven years.
