Erick Tejada is a Doctor of Science in Chemical Engineering who currently works to establish an energy sector that brings social justice to the people of Honduras and development to his country. Before taking on the role as Secretary of Energy, he served as a research professor in areas such as thermodynamics for engineers, biomass, and biofuels, as well as an independent consultant for topics such as solid waste management, air pollutant control, and quality management. Tejada has published research articles in indexed journals on topics related to soil remediation, biomass transformation, bioenergy, biofuels, and biorefineries. He has participated as a guest speaker at international conferences in Mexico, Chile, and Argentina. In addition to leading the Ministry of Energy, he also serves as interim manager of the National Electricity Company (ENEE) of Honduras.
