• David Velasco is responsible to lead the project finance business in Chile covering all three sectors: Power and Renewables, Infrastructure and Telecom, and Natural Resources. 
• David has +20 years experience in the financial sector across industries mostly on structured finance, project finance, and investment banking, with focus on energy and infrastructure sectors for different countries in LatAm. Prior to joining SMBC, David was Head of Energy Sector at Itaú Chile and before that, responsible for the infrastructure sector business. His experience also includes financial advisory, rating agencies and C&IB departments at different international and local banks in Chile.
• David has worked in the origination and execution of more than 80 transactions in excess of USD 40 billion across industries over his career.
• He holds a BSc in Business Engineering from Universidad de Chile (Chile) and specialization courses in project finance and derivatives in Chile and New York.
• He is fluent in English and Spanish and has a basic understanding of Portuguese.
